Marcia Christina has been an avid jazz and R&B music enthusiast since her childhood living in the Netherlands. Upon emigrating to the United States, she’s been out in the music world since the early eighties, singing background and lead vocals for Aaron’s Latin Jazz and the Coast Band, as well as several other R&B cover bands.
Marcia has been engaged in jazz studies as a vocal jazz performer at the Jazzschool in Berkeley, and as the alto voice in the award-winning A capella group Vocal Underground under the late direction Greg Murai. She holds a very special place in her heart for Brazilian music and percussion and has performed with San Francisco Carnival parading continent champion, “Fogo Na Roupa” for many years.
After graduating from CSUMB with a BA in Music in spring 2025, Marcia aims to work as a singer, songwriter and percussionist, as well as in commercial music production and jazz music education.
